Sooo… it’s been a LONG while since my last post. I worked as a camp counselor this summer and didn’t have my laptop. That said, I think it’s appropriate that I share with you guys some of my insight from camp. This summer changed my life.
A little piece to start us off - during staff training in May, Chap (the program director, my boss) talked quite a bit about how we may not see any of the impact we have on the kids during camp, or even until years down the road. Well, I had this camper during my first week. We’ll call him D. D was a really sweet kid, a bookworm. Never did anything wrong, and was always willing to do anything to help. I could tell he enjoyed his week at camp, but I didn’t know how much until I got an eval back from his mom the next week. It said that his week at camp changed his LIFE (his words). He wants to come back as a counselor! That really caught me off-guard, especially in my second week as an elementary counselor.
My point? God can use anyone to do anything. Plant a seed, and a tree will grow. It just takes time.
